If you’re like most people, one of the things you love most about Aspen is its culture. During the month of April, things are always happening (the first week was a huge success).
So what’s going on between April 10 and April 29?
Aspen Events: April 10 Through April 29
Schneetag, the German word for snow day, is always incredibly fun. The 8th annual Schneetag event, which takes place on April 10, involves teams of four to create a craft to pilot down the slope and float across a 40-foot by 20-foot pond. Every team has its own theme and performs a quick sketch before they plummet down the slope and into the pond, and you’re invited to come join the fun. Admission is free.
April 14 to April 16
The Spring Youth Production of Xanadu, Jr. is the journey of a Greek muse in Venice Beach, California. Based on the 1980 film and starring kids in grades 5 through 8, Xanadu, Jr. is at the Wheeler Opera House between April 14 and April 16. Tickets are $20 for adults and $12 for students with special pricing for groups of 10 or more.
Aspen Art Museum – Educator in Residence Talk: Sandra Jackson-Dumont
Enjoy a talk on the Metropolitan Museum of Art and the development of the new Met Breuer at 6 p.m. on April 27. The talk will take place at the Aspen Art Museum.
Movies at the Museum: The Color Purple
See The Color Purple at the Aspen Art Museum with family and friends. Starring Whoopi Goldberg, Oprah Winfrey and Danny Glover, the classic 1985 film looks even better with free admission at the Aspen Art Museum.
