Aspen Motorsports Park - Homes for Sale in Woody Creek
If you’re like most people, ski slopes are probably what come to mind when you think about high-speed fun in the Aspen area.
What you may not know is that Aspen was once known as the cradle of Rocky Mountain sports car racing. In the post-WWII era, cars became so fast that Colorado Governor Edwin C. Johnson banned racing on public roads in 1955.
So what replaced good, old-fashioned street racing?
The Aspen Motorsports Park did—and it’s still a thrilling place where adults and kids can go to have a blast.

What is the Aspen Motorsports Park?

Many Aspen-area residents couldn’t imagine a summer without sports car racing, so they built a 1.1-mile racetrack in Woody Creek: the Aspen Motorsports Park. Enthusiasts ran their first race there in 1963, and the motor sports complex has added several new tracks over the years. Today, the tracks are home to the Aspen Racing and Racing Sports Car Clubs.

Professional Racing for All Ages at the Aspen Motorsports Park

You’ll find a fantastic variety of high-speed options at the Aspen Motor Sports Park. There’s a traditional go-cart track for families and a far more demanding raceway track.
Their popular Performance Driving Days program includes gear, professional instruction, and the exhilaration of being behind the wheel of a SCCA Spec Racer Toyota. Three-hour and 6-hour programs are available to all licensed drivers over the age of 18 who can operate a manual transmission.
