Aspen is full of outstanding fine dining options, but not all upscale American cuisine restaurants offer tasty gluten free options. Luckily, we have the inside scoop from our gluten-free clients. If you avoid gluten, but still would like to enjoy American cuisine in a fine dining atmosphere, here are three places you should definitely check out.

Plato’s Restaurant

Plato’s Restaurant might be a bit out-of-the-way for some Aspen residents, given that it’s located at Aspen Meadows Resort in the West End, but it’s absolutely worth the trip. Plato’s Restaurant is a destination point. The dining room is quiet and romantic. Unlike many modern restaurants with American cuisine, this restaurant features an intimate dining experience that our clients have raved about.
Our clients appreciate that the chef sources only the freshest ingredients from organic farms within the state. Plato’s Restaurant is renowned for quality food, beverages and service, but it also just might have the single best patio in Aspen. While savoring fine American meals, diners can soak in the view of three mountains and enjoy the lovely sound of Castle Creek.
The restaurant is currently closed for renovations. The entire resort is experiencing an upgrade, and this includes Plato’s Restaurant. Our clients report that they look forward to seeing what Plato’s Restaurant has planned for 2018.

Element 47

Element 47 is said to be one of the finest spots in Aspen to enjoy a glass of wine. The restaurant is open every day for breakfast, lunch, après and dinner. There is no formal dress code. “Aspen casual” is the ideal attire. Though it lacks formality, it is one of the most raved about fine dining restaurants for American cuisine in all of Aspen.
Element 47 graciously and respectfully accommodates diners with any food allergies or intolerances. They offer rare wines and a warm, comfortable dining room. Element 47 was honored in 2015 with a Five-Star Restaurant Award. It is reportedly the only restaurant to have achieved such an honor among all Aspen restaurants.

Steakhouse No. 316

Don’t let the name fool you. This sophisticated steakhouse also features a wide variety of vegetarian and seafood dishes. One of the most preferred entrees is the Crab Legs, Oysters, and Jumbo Shrimp served with the most exquisite remoulade sauce.
Of course, our clients do tell us that this steakhouse has the best steaks in all of Aspen. The 24 ounce Prime Porterhouse is unbelievable. Even clients who don’t usually enjoy meat tell us that this is Aspen’s premier restaurant for steaks. It’s located right on Restaurant Row and offers a superb American cuisine dining experience for gluten-free diners.
