Checking Out Your New Neighborhood

It’s always a good idea to drive through your potential neighborhood at various times of day, which will give you a clear picture of what it’ll be like when you live there. If there are people outside, stop and say hello—you can get a lot of information about a neighborhood by chatting with the neighbors. (Besides, you’ll give yourself a head start on getting to know everyone that way!)

Check the Location, Too

Everything isn’t all about the neighbors, though. You’ll want to check your commute times and find out what’s happening near the neighborhood, too. Will there be a major shopping center coming in, or are they building a hospital nearby? It’s a good idea to check the zoning plans before you make an offer on a home.
