There are many reasons sellers decide not to sell a home. Sometimes those reasons are temporary, and they’ll list the home for sale again soon – but sometimes they’re permanent. Some of the most common reasons sellers withdraw a listing include:

Overpricing. When a house sits on the market for too long, the listing becomes “stale.” In cases like these, sellers take the house off the market and relist it later – that way, it won’t show up as having been on the market for months without selling.
