If you’re a first-time home-seller, you probably have several questions about the process, how long it takes, and how much money you’ll make on the sale of your home. Your Realtor® is here to walk you through the answers to all those questions, whether you’re selling a cozy condo in Aspen or a spacious luxury home in Snowmass.
However, it doesn’t hurt to know as much as you can before you list your home—especially when it comes to pricing
First-Time Home Seller in Aspen? Here’s How to Price Your House
You can always call your Realtor when you have questions; that’s why we’re here. With that said, follow these tips for first-time sellers and you can’t go wrong.
Price Your Home Right the First Time
Your Realtor will provide you with a complimentary comparative market analysis, or CMA. A CMA tells you how your home stacks up against other, similar homes in the same area—and it tells you how much money your home is likely to bring in from a buyer.
Make sure you don’t price your home too high; if you do, it’s going to sit on the market until you have to lower the price. When you lower the price, buyers will wonder what’s so wrong with the house that you had to lower the price… and they’re not going to come see it.
Don’t price it too low, either, because you’ll be leaving money on the table.
The bottom line: let your Realtor help you decide how much you should ask for your home.
